Pay phones are available operated with telephone cards, recognized by the green color and Turk Telecom sign on them. The telephone cards of 30, 60, 100 and 120 units are sold at the post offices, small markets, book stores. Making the call Local Calls To call a number inside the city just dial the 7-digit telephone number directly. Long Distance Calls To call another city in Turkey find the 3-digit code you need and precede it with a 0, followed by the 7-digit phone number. The number should always start with a 0. Operator Assisted Call The special number 131 for local calls or 115 for international calls will take you to Türk Telekom’s operators. Register the desired telephone number and other details. Operator will place the call for you and will connect you to the desired number. To make an international call from Turkey, dial 00 + Country Code + Area Code + Telephone Number. A call from abroad to Turkey would have the same format. (Country Code of Turkey is 90). The area code for Mugla province that includes Marmaris, Icmeler, Turunc, Datca, Bodrum and Fethiye is 252. For example, to call Marmarisinfo.com office from abroad you would dial 00 90 252 4112051. Using a Turkish mobile phone To call another mobile just dial the 10-digit mobile number and precede it with a 0. To call a fixed line number in Turkey, precede it with a 0 and the code, then finish off with the subscriber number. Roaming To call a fixed line telephone in Turkey, use +90 followed by the city code and subscriber number.
